‘Gallu’ to vie at Meihodo filmfest

Iran’s film ‘Gallu’ is scheduled to be screened at the Meihodo International Youth Visual Media Festival (MIYVMF) in the US.

Iran’s film ‘Gallu’ is scheduled to be screened at the Meihodo International Youth Visual Media Festival (MIYVMF) in the US.

Directed by Kasra Tirsahar, the film will represent Iran at the 2022 edition of the festival.

The film is about a rural man who accidently finds a piece of meat. And after cooking it, he notices its strange taste.

The man crazily searches for another meat that tastes the same, but the quest unleashes a series of catastrophes.

The MIYVMF is an independent film festival. It is hosted by the Japanese corporation, Meihodo Inc., which is “working to support and promote young international creators and provide a platform for cultural conversations between film producers from all over the world”, the website of the event reads.

The festival aims to “bring young visual artists from around the world together to celebrate the art of filmmaking”.

The annual festival debuted in Japan in 2018.

This year’s edition of the festival is set to be organized through Meihodo’s US headquarters in New York City.

The 2022 edition of the MIYVMF will announce the winners on February 22.
